ADHARA, also known as Epsilon Canis Majoris, is a first magnitude star in the southern hemisphere that has escaped the fame it deserves. Adhara is a magnificent star, which shines with a surface temperature of some 20,000 degrees, giving Adhara a sparkling bluish cast. From its distance of 425 light years from earth, we calculate Adhara¡¯s luminosity to be 15,000 times that of the Sun.
Before founding Adhara, Ms. Causey was a National Assignment Editor and Producer at CNN for 14 years, serving the network at the world headquarters in Atlanta and at CNN¡¯s New York City bureau. During her career, Ms. Causey reported on some of the most important news stories of the 1980¡¯s and 90¡¯s. Ms. Causey was a member of a team honored with national Emmys for their coverage of the Olympic Park Bombing and the Oklahoma City Bombing. Ms. Causey left CNN in 2000 to form Adhara Media, LLC and the documentary film production company Working Girl Productions, which has produced several projects for television, including her highly acclaimed, award-winning original trilogy, The Golden Era of Nascar. Ms. Causey¡¯s signature film, The Wendell Scott story, recently appeared on The History Channel. Ms. Causey is currently working on a documentary about the borderlands between Arizona and Mexico.
